Yes, we offer both open trailer transport and enclosed transport services to accommodate your needs and budget.

Door-to-door service means we pick up your vehicle from any address you choose and deliver it to any other address, as long as the location is accessible for our full-sized carriers. If access is limited due to narrow streets or tight spaces, you can simply arrange to meet the driver nearby at a convenient location with a large parking lot.

Yes, we provide full bumper-to-bumper insurance for your peace of mind. This means your vehicle is covered for up to $250,000 for open trailer transport and $1,000,000 for enclosed transport. Protection includes everything from minor scratches to total damage, theft, and fire, your vehicle is fully insured while it’s on our trailer. Please note, however, that personal belongings inside your vehicle are not covered under this policy.

The cost to ship a vehicle depends on several key factors, including the size and condition of the vehicle, the distance and route, and the time of year. For the most accurate estimate, please complete the quote form on our website.

No, your vehicle will remain on the same truck for the entire journey. With Rocky Roads Auto Transport, we don’t transfer vehicles between carriers. The only time a replacement might be used is if the original truck encounters a mechanical issue, in which case, we’ll step in to find a solution and keep your delivery on track.

Pick-up time is primarily determined by your location. Vehicles located in major metropolitan areas are typically picked up on the exact date requested. However, please keep in mind that occasional delays due to weather, traffic, or road conditions can occur. For pick-ups in more rural areas, it may take 2 days or longer to secure a carrier.

We recommend booking your vehicle transport as soon as you know your timeline. This ensures we can secure a truck and align the pickup with your schedule. In most cases, we can assign a carrier and have them on route to you within 24-72 hours of your vehicle being ready. If you need immediate pickup, we’ll do our best to accommodate your preferred date. While submitting an order at least 1 week in advance is helpful for optimal scheduling, we also accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible.

If your vehicle is being picked up from an auction, we will need the following information prior to the pickup date:

  • Vehicle VIN
  • Lot number
  • Gate PIN

No, the quote is all-inclusive. You won’t have to worry about any hidden fees, it covers door-to-door service, full bumper-to-bumper insurance, all taxes and tolls, and even includes up to 150 lbs of personal belongings at no extra charge.

This version uses cleaner language and organizes the information logically. “Once your dates are confirmed with the driver, you can expect your vehicle to arrive on time. However, please be aware that occasional delays may occur due to weather conditions, unexpected truck breakdowns, or other force majeure events encountered en route. Typical delivery times after pickup are as follows: Coast-to-coast shipping: 7 to 9 days North-south routes (or vice versa): 4 to 6 days Short-distance transport (under 500 miles): 1 to 2 days

Drivers load vehicles based on safety and logistics. They must consider multiple factors when positioning each car, ensuring all vehicles fit properly without exceeding the truck’s legal length, complying with federal regulations, and balancing weight across all axles to avoid being overweight.

Open auto transport is the most common method for shipping vehicles. It includes comprehensive insurance coverage, so you can have peace of mind knowing your vehicle is protected. Open transport is also the more affordable choice compared to enclosed transport. Enclosed transport is generally preferred for exotic, classic, or high-value vehicles that require extra protection. The insurance coverage is higher, making it the recommended choice for more expensive supercars.

You may include personal belongings in your vehicle at no additional cost for the first 100 lbs. Items must be placed in the trunk or rear compartment. For loads exceeding 150 lbs, additional charges apply, and items must be stored in the front or back seats below window level. Please note that heavy items are not permitted, and the driver’s seat must remain empty at all times. Personal belongings shipped inside your vehicle are not covered by our insurance policy.

Yes, someone must be present for both pickup and delivery. This can be you or anyone you authorize. Their role is to sign the bill of lading and observe the driver’s vehicle inspection. Once the inspection is complete and the bill of lading is signed, they are free to leave.

Your vehicle is fully insured during transit. Carriers provide cargo insurance of up to $250,000 for open transport and up to $1,000,000 for enclosed transport. Please note, however, that damages caused by Acts of God (such as hail, floods, hurricanes, avalanches, etc.) and road debris are not covered under standard policies. If this is a concern, we can arrange for your vehicle to be shipped in an enclosed carrier for an additional fee, which offers higher coverage and greater protection from the elements.

If you notice damage upon delivery, you must immediately note it on the bill of lading before the driver departs. After documenting the damage, contact Rocky Roads Auto Transport right away to report the issue. The sooner we are aware, the faster we can resolve it. Do not let the driver leave until the damage is noted on the bill of lading and the driver has signed it.

After you file your claim, here’s what happens next:
1. We’ll ask you to send us the signed bill of lading along with three repair estimates from any authorized repair shop.
2. Once we have those documents, we’ll handle the arbitration process with the carrier for you, so you don’t have to worry about anything.

Yes, you can authorize a family member, friend, or coworker to be present for pickup or delivery on your behalf. It’s important that they are fully informed about the inspection process. Upon pickup, the person shipping the vehicle must sign the bill of lading, which documents your vehicle’s condition. At delivery, the receiving person should conduct a thorough inspection and confirm the vehicle is in the same condition as when it was loaded. If any damage is found, they must note it on the bill of lading before the driver departs

The pickup process is simple! Just hand your keys to the driver and sign the bill of lading to confirm we’ve collected your vehicle. You don’t need to provide your title or insurance paperwork. Once that’s done, your vehicle is officially on its way!
